We left this morning at 6:45 a.m. when it was barely daylight. We went down the Savannah River heading for the ocean. Terry really wanted to be able to slide down the coast in open water. No such luck. The winds were variable, so the ocean was nothing but chop. We bounced. We bounced. I went back to bed. Carol went back to bed. Luckily, Peggy decided to lie down on the settee, so she was available when things started trying to escape from shelves, ledges, and cabinets. As you can tell, that means Peggy is the only one who got a full day of exercise!
In the meantime, Terry realized that we were not really making headway fighting the waves. So, we headed back into the intracoastal waterway. That made the afternoon much calmer! Peggy, Carol, and Gee spent the afternoon playing 500 rummy. Yes, Peggy continues to beat us! She is definitely a card shark! Good thing we are not playing for money. I would be deep in debt!
Tonight, we are anchored in New Teakettle Creek in Georgia. Tomorrow, the weather promises to be the same, so we will continue down the ICW. Presently, we are about 40 miles south of Savannah. We hope to make it to Florida tomorrow. But, it is a boat....
