Feeding the Jib Furler

We found on LUX that the jib furler would regularly jam because the line, fed from the block on the starboard bow, was too low. All the line would bunch up at the bottom of the drum and jam.

I looked around for "just the right block" and found a nice Harken block that has a smooth shank that wouldn't be too long and wouldn't chafe the line that ties it to the support. I didn't want to drill a hole in the gull striker support, so I took a length of small cord and tied it to the support. The added benefit is that the block can be moved up and down as needed. It doesn't move from its location once it is set.

The jib furler is now well behaved.

Terry,
Great simple solution! Will definitely help on our L43.
