One Fish, Two Fish

The weather started getting rough,
The tiny ship was tossed,
If not for the spirit of the fearless crew,
The Mahi would be lost,
The Mahi would be lost.

Yes, Dear Readers, we had a fishing incident yesterday. We were running... running against the wind. The boat was crashing into the waves. Terry decided to deploy the Cuban Yoyo. For our new readers, a Cuban Yoyo is a handheld reel fishing reel that really does look like a big yoyo. We affix it to a rail at the back of LUX, and we let it out. It has a carabiner on it that rattles when we get a fish strike.

In no time at all, the carabiner started to rattle. We had a fish. And not just any fish - a Mahi Mahi. A nice sized Mahi Mahi.

Terry wrestled the fish on board. Ah, Dear Readers, the Mahi is quite the fighter. He was flipping and splashing. Carol was yelling, "Throw a towel on it!" And, in the midst of all this excitement, Mike announces that we have a hit on the port line! Yes, Dear Readers, ANOTHER Mahi Mahi! Terry ended up flipping that Mahi into the dingy while finishing up with the first fish. One fish went into the refrigerator while the other went into the freezer.

And, last night we had fresh Mahi Mahi fried up for dinner.
